Thanks for being here.
We would like to invite you and your friends to help provide small grants to individuals or communities in 2023.
One-off grants 2023
We all eat! Our local food environment is of increasing importance for all of us.
If you are able, please join us in supporting local entrepreneurs turn their ideas into actions. No donation is too small.
Applications will be kept super simple with one page of questions to clarify the idea, participants and timeframe. There will be no formal reporting process but we will ask successful applicants to share their project story with us (see Case studies examples on our website).
For more information on donations please email us at hello@saurbanfood.org.
The grants will support people passionate about creating a local food system.
We are seeking donations to supplement our starting funds of $2,000.

Explore ongoing local food grants
We are exploring the viability of setting up an ongoing grants program. We are looking at the 'Awesome Foundation' model with a focus on local, urban food system initiatives.
The Awesome Foundation is an international network of autonomous 'chapters' of philanthropists that provide small grant for projects to 'people devoted to forwarding the interest of awesomeness in the universe.'
In a nutshell, The Awesome Foundation model invites 10 Trustees to gift $100 each, a total of $1000 per grants. The trustees consider the applications and together decide on the the successful applicant each round. Each chapter is free to establish their own variations on this process. There are two chapters in South Australia; Adelaide and the Fleurieu. You can find out more here.
If this is something you would be interested in, or you can suggest another model please send us an email at hello@saurbanfood.org by Monday 13 February.
We will arrange an information session to discuss the opportunity further in March.
Thank you for your time and considering the invitations to donate and/or explore an ongoing local food grants program.
